ESSENTIAL OIL SAFETY
When using essential oils, safety must come first. Gazelle Aromatics lists all essential oils used in our products directly on the label. If you have any questions about any essential oil contained in a product you wish to purchase, please contact us before purchasing.
Please take note of the following information before using any essential oils.
Sun Phototoxicity
Lime, Bergamot, Citrus, Cumin should be avoided from being put on the skin if you plan to be out in the sun to avoid sun burns.
Pregnancy
Highly stimulating or spicy oils should be avoided during pregnancy. Some examples are Basil, Juniper, Pennyroyal, Rosemary and large amounts of Peppermint.
Extremely Toxic
Pennyroyal is highly toxic. Anise, Mugwort, Wintergreen should be used with extreme caution. Gazelle Aromatics does not sell products containing any of these oils.
Care should be taken with most essential oils, using them in the correct proportions, as necessary. Be especially careful with citrus, spicy and highly stimulating oils on the skin.
Skin Irritation
Hyssop oil must be avoided. Fennel, Sage and large amounts of Rosemary should be used with caution.
Epilepsy
Please contact us before administering any essential oils to infants or small children to make sure you are using appropriate safe quantities and dilutions.
Infants
If using blood thinning medications, Wintergreen and Birch essential oils should be avoided as their chemical properties mimic these drugs.
